Many people’s favorite subject has arrived: classic cars!
We know that even though the years pass, and that interests have become increasingly different in this generation, there will always be classic car lovers.
And this interest isn’t only in admiration, but also in collecting.
Research done by the Fédération Internationale de Véhicules Ancies (FIVA) showed that the national market for classic cars moved R$32.6 billion in 2019. And, it also revealed that among others expenses, collectors spent on average R$ 27.200 a year on maintenance and repairs, monthly club membership payments, as well as in the acquisition of new vehicles.
But enough of statistics, let’s get to the interesting part!
A survey was conducted on most sought out classic cars in the first semester of 2022. The criteria adopted were vehicles with 30 or more years of use. That said, only models from 1992 and prior were part of the study.
Now, take a look at the list of the classic cars that were most searched for by classic car lovers:
1 – VOLKSWAGEN TYPE 1 (BEETLE)
Here we’re talking about the elite. The most beloved classic car of all time!
What family never wanted a Beetle, right? This car is remembered by everyone around the world, plus the Beetle is a reflection of Brazilian taste and the passion when it comes to the search for classic cars.

2 – CHEVROLET OPALA
A classic that became a meme due to its notoriety of being a “gas-guzzler”, and it has a special place in this list, and in the hearts of Brazilians.
The Chevrolet Opala is the second most sought after car, especially by Opala fans. And, it is looked for in all of its versions: From the coveted six-cylinder SS, the imposing Diplomata, through to the rare coupe model.

3 – VOLKSWAGEN VOYAGE
The last to reach the podium is the Volkswagen Voyage sedan, which may even be considered an oddity in this list, but was an icon in its time.
Models from a single generation were accounted for. The model was produced for 10 years, from its launch in 1982 until it was discontinued in 1992.

4 – FORD DEL REY
This model can also be considered a surprise on the list, but not because of it being on the list itself, rather because of its ranking.
With the difficult mission of replacing the Galaxie Landau, the Del Rey only excited consumers in its first years after its launch in 1982. We question its ranking as fourth on the list, but that may be due to its low market value.

5 – VOLKSWAGEN SANTANA
The sedan arrived in Brazil in 1984, and while it may be considered a “neoclassic” model, it has become yet another favorite amongst Brazilians.
The box like exterior produced by the German company won over the hearts of many sedan lovers. It became especially beloved by taxi drivers after its redesign in the beginning of the 90’s, under the joint venture of Volkswagen and Ford called AutoLatina.

6 – CHEVROLET D20
Make space for the first pickup truck of the list, and it is a big one!
For those who are a truly pickup truck lovers, and dream of having this vehicle in their garage, just take a look at its place in the rankings amongst the most coveted classic cars in 2022.

7 – FORD F-1000
And, another pick-up truck on the list!
The Ford model was, as it still is, a dream for a lot of people out there. Released in 1979, this classic car has the incredible cargo capacity of one ton. It’s the envy of a lot of so-called pickup trucks out there, isn’t it?

8 – VOLKSWAGEN GOL
The last one on our list, which was actually the first-generation of this model as a hatch. And, a model that nowadays still conquers the hearts of many young people.
It wasn’t only one of the most sold cars at the time of its release in 1980, it also remains in the list of the most sought after classic cars, and this is especially true of its special and sports models.
