First, have your precision tools, such as the spreader pliers, handy. Begin the process by securing the tips of the rings inside the pliers and only make the necessary movement to pass the ring through the diameter of the piston head.
Avoid trying to fit it with your hands, especially by doing lateral twisting movements. This can break or generate a crack in the part.
Another tip is to analyze the ring clearance closely, especially on the side of the channels. To measure, use the feeler gauge to make sure you are putting on the right ring.
Also be sure to leave a distance of 120 degrees in the positioning of the tips, as the manuals recommend.
It is very important to do the correct application to ensure the proper functioning of the engine piston. Remember, it is necessary that the installation of the RIO Piston & Ring Kit is done with maximum accuracy.
