The valve tappets act as an intermediary element between the eccentric of the camshaft (cam) and the valve control, performing the synchronism of opening and closing the valves.
The tappets developed by RIO for the aftermarket parts are produced from material compatible with iron or steel camshafts.
Coking ensures greater resistance in contact with the valve control shaft.

The mechanical tappets are produced in different alloys of cast iron, chilled and/ or tempered, reaching high hardness according to original specifications.
The hydraulic tappets work in a similar way to a shock absorber, but in the opposite way. They have two orifices: one to admit and the other to discharge the oil that circulates under pressure into the engine system.
